March Love Bundle

How to provide your clients with a healing herbal Sitz Bath for postnatal healing.

A sitz bath can help bring relief for people with pain, inflammation, swelling or irritation in the perineum, the space between rectum and vulva or scrotum.

It is a way of bathing the genitals that can help to relieve soreness, burning, and inflammation.

A sitz bath can be useful for people who have problems in the anal area such as hemorrhoids, or an infection in the anogenital area. It can provide relief and boost healing in women after vaginal childbirth.

It can also be used to cleanse the area around the anus and the genitals.

In modern terms, we can use the same principles but use a bath instead of a small bowl only for the genitals.

Herbs:

You can purchase premade Poultices from the link below, however, these are more intended for massage rather than in a bath of warm water.

Or

We recommend buying some muslin clothes from baby shops and using a hair bobble or string to tie them and include the following herbs.

Dried Lavander:

Lavender is perhaps one of the best herbs for purification, protection, and healing rituals. It calms and centers the mind and is a great aid for meditation. Its superior harmonising qualities are ideal for chakra-balancing. It can be used to seal a platonic friendship, especially between teacher and student. Lavender is a plant of Mercury and is well suited to calm an overactive mind and to stabilise emotions. It may be used for studying, as it may deepen understanding, but should be avoided in case of mental exhaustion (it will send you to sleep).

Dried Chamomile

Chamomile is a gentle, yet powerful herb of the sun that brings peace, serenity, and light to the soul and calms all sense of fretting or fear. It is an excellent herb for chakra balancing and to help one find one's inner center. Chamomile may inspire confidence and open the heart to expressing love and compassion. It can also be used for dreamwork, as it protects the seeker on his astral journeys and wards off demonic entities and nightmares. It is used to bring clarity of vision for divination and scrying, and may also be used for prophetic dreams. Chamomile has a reputation for attracting good fortune, especially in monetary matters.

Marigold Flower

One of the vernacular names of Marigold is 'Death Flower' and in older herbals, one reads that they are often planted on graves. This is probably due to their apparently immortal life force, which symbolises the undying spirit and will give cheer to the departing souls. This immortal quality is also invoked in many a love charm intended to make love last forever so it shall never wilt.

Witch Hazel Leaves

As with common hazel, Witch Hazel twigs are cut and used as dowsing rods Native Americans also used the seeds in certain medicine ceremonies and for divination practice to determine whether a patient would recover. Witch Hazel has an affinity with water and may be used in weather magic.

Shepherds Purse

Shepherds Purse was used as a protective charm against bleeding. The seeds were used as an amulet for teething children. Eating the seeds of the first three Shepherd's Purse plants one sees is said to protect against all manner of diseases for the rest of the year

Yarrow

Yarrow can be used for protection and courage. It is ideal for chakra balancing and to cleanse the third eye. It may also be used for love divination and to attune to the changing balance between yin and yang when working with the I Ching. It may also be used to seal the bond of friendship.

and don't forget OATS, these can just be stored cupboard Oats.

All of the above herbs can be purchased from the link below:

How to use them in the Ritual Session

Prepare the poultice before arriving at the customer's house. When it comes to bath time, go and run the bath with the Poultice in the bath while it runs. explain to Mum to leave the poultice floating in the bath while she is in there and to use the poultice to bath her skin. The bath should usually take 20 mins to 30 mins to get full benefit from it.

Once finished with the bath squeeze the poultice to remove excess water and place in a plastic bag to keep for next time.

Explain to mum she can reuse the same poultice over and over again but only for a week before disposing of it, or removing the herbs from the back and washing the muslin.

Prepare a fresh clean one for every customer you visit.
